Discover Kona’s hidden treasures on a half-day adventure that includes a walk in the Kona cloud forest and a visit to a renowned Kona coffee farm. Explore the Kaloko-Honokohau National Historic Park and see the ancient fish traps and petroglyphs.
What to Expect
On this half-day adventure you’ll explore the Kaloko-Honokohau National Historic Park, where your guide will point out the ancient fish traps and ponds used to sustain the native Hawaiian community that once called this area home.
Your guide will also show you the ancient petroglyphs and the heiau, or temples, in the park. Visit the highest coffee farm in Hawaii, Mountain Thunder, on the Hualalai volcano. Taste one of the most sought-after coffees in the world after your personal tour of the coffee mill.
Perched high up in the clouds over Kona town, the cloud forest sanctuary is the last stop on the tour. Enjoy a walk under a cool canopy of 30-foot-tall tree ferns, native ‘ohai trees, and bamboo while catching glimpses of the wild flock of cockatoos chattering overhead.
