What to Expect
Day 1: Hanoi – Yen Bai city - Nghia Lo ( L, D)
7.00 am: The guide will pick you up at your hotel. Start journey to Nghia Lo, Yen Bai.
Enjoy stunning landscapes along the way.
Enjoy stunning countryside views and nature, visit local villages and experience the daily life of the hill tribe people.
Arrive at Nghia Lo town early in the afternoon, and check into a homestay at a peaceful village nearby Nghia Lo. Have lunch and rest on a traditional stilt house. In the afternoon, you'll embark on a bicycling tour to discover the daily life of the ethnic community in the area and enjoy the beautiful scenery of villages, rice fields and mountains. Dinner and overnight at the homestay.
Day 2: Nghia Lo - Tu Le – Mu Cang Chai - trekking around villages (B, L, D)
You will be amazed at the wonderful rice terraces on the route from Tu Le - Mù Cang Chải.
Run over the Khau Pha pass (one of the four greatest passes in Northern Vietnam, with with much fog in the cold days). The 40 km ride is on some of the most scenic roads with many stops for pictures. We’ll cross Tu Le and Mu Cang Chai, the two remote lands of Yen Bai province where the black H’mong, Dzao and Thai people make wonderful rice terraces on the mountains.
Enjoy trekking tours around La Pan Tan commune and explore the life & musical of Mong people.
Continue trekking from La Pan Tan village to enjoy Mam Xoi rice terrace of H’mong people or Che Cu Nha Commune in Mu Cang Chai. A picnic lunch is served along the trekking path. Visit a school.
Beside seeing the beauty of the rice fields, you’ll be shown how to plant rice, harvest rice and discover the farming rituals of the locals. Enjoy stunning landscapes, countryside, nature and villages along the way.
Sleeping at Homestay at Mu Cang Chai
Note: 3- hour drive & 3-4 hour light trek
Day 3: Mu Cang Chai -Hanoi
After breakfast, there’s more time to look around and experience life in Mu Cang Chai. You will comeback from Mu Cang Chai – Nghia Lo, and visit the "Old Tea" in Suoi Giang to taste from the hundred year-old tea tree. The high mountains and cool climate give this a special taste. You will also have lunch here.
Afternoon: Transfer back to Hanoi.
