What to Expect
Take a relaxed, 2-day hiking excursion from Hanoi to visit Sapa, the ancestral lands of the H’mong people, in the highlands of Vietnam. Explore their villages, eat their delicious cuisine, and hike across the magnificent countryside they call home.
See a colonial hydroelectric dam built by the French more than 50 years ago and an amazing waterfall, all on easy treks that won’t deplete your energy too much. Enjoy delicious meals every night, and sleep in a luxury train to and from Hanoi.
Night 1: Hanoi – Lao Cai
20.00: Pick-up from your hotel and transfer to Hanoi Railway Station to take the night train to Lao Cai. Sleep on the train.
Day 2: Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van (B/L/D)
5:30: Arrive in Lao Cai early in the morning. Pick up and transfer to Sapa, and enjoy breakfast at the hotel.
10:00: Trek to Muong Hoa Valley to visit 3 villages of the H’mong and the Day peoples.
14:30: Back to Sapa and spend the night at your hotel.
Day 3: Sapa – Cat Cat – Sapa – Lao Cai (B/L/D)
9:00: Trek to Cat Cat village, a French-built hydroelectric power plant, and Silver Waterfall.
11:00am: Walk back to Sapa.
5:00pm: Take a bus to Lao Cai station and catch the train back to Hanoi.
