What to Expect
Deepen your experience of Hanoi’s lively culinary scene with a local guide who shares fun facts about the city’s street food. Stroll past old-world architecture down narrow alleys and tree-lined boulevards of the Old Quarter, aka 37 Old Streets. You’ll visit Dong Xuan market, street stalls and family-owned eateries and enjoy 6–8 food tastings. This 3-hour walking tour ends with an egg coffee at a local cafe.
Hanoi Street Food Day Tour starts by walking 2.5 miles (4 kilometer) around old quarter '36 streets' to visit some famous and specialized- food families or stalls/ local restaurants, shops where they run their business every day, certainly you will watch and taste around 6-8 particular dishes. Visit Dong Xuan market to sample some local treats such as Banh Xeo (Crispy pancake) and Banh Goi (Pillow Dumpling). Your guide will explain the routine of Vietnam meal times and indigenous/unusual ingredients eaten. See dried goods and aromatics, the essentials of Vietnamese cuisine. Stroll up ‘food alley’ to see other dishes on offer. You will dip your fingers and wash your senses in the extraordinary Vietnam cuisine and experience Vietnam tradition through food.
This street food tour will give you an unique experience to try the foods of the local Hanoi people, we ensure the food is handled hygienically and provide a comfortable venue for the tastings. The benefit also goes back to the vendors or restaurants/ families as we buy directly from them. Enjoy the special egg coffee at one of the traditional family run coffee shop at the end of the tour.
Notes: This tour can be taken in the morning or afternoon. The tour may be subject to change due to weather conditions etc. The tour will be mostly conducted on foot so be sure that you are wearing comfortable walking shoes.
