What people are saying about Hanoi
We watched this on our first day in Hanoi and it was a fantastic introduction into Vietnamese traditional music and traditional instruments. We recognised it in later tours and really enjoyed the performance. How they move the puppets in sync was incredible and the instrumentalists and singers were fantastic. My boyfriend and I were worried we'd run late as we went to see the Temple of Lit. beforehand, but the skip-the-line meant we didn't have to wait in a long line. Moreover, after booking the tickets, I noticed we had to print out a physical copy of the ticket and could not present the ticket on our phone. So I called up to explain that printing a ticket was impossible as we (being holidayers) had absolutely no idea where to even print something in Hanoi. The staff were great and had actually sent hard copy of the tickets to our hotel! Only critique would be that the rows of seats aren't very well spaced so you can see the head of the person in front of you at all times.
We sat in the middle of the second row paying a premium for this selection- well worth it especially for snapping photos. Some of the characters and stories were surprising and funny. Even though the commentary was in Vietnamese it did not matter. Each of the 17 short segments were not generally tied together tightly so any story line from the narrator was not required to enjoy the performance. The show went for 50 minutes and there were some surprises in some of the segments. Overall well worth the time and effort to be brain good seating tickets.
This show is an experience that you should see when in Vietnam, but once is enough. We got the better seats up front and it was worth it. A bit of a hassle to have to pick up ticket before hand but it was handled professionally. Show was just about the right length and I thought enjoyable. Many kids so be prepared for the distractions and hope you don’t sit behind someone with big hair!
An outstanding tour. Anna and Alice were excellent and looked after us very well. They kept us informed and we had a mixed up tour due to some early morning rain but they rescheduled well. The girls were also very good at keeping things on track in the manic Hanoi traffic. Very competant drivers. If you love street food - this is the one. We had a great time. Thank you Anna and Alice.
I really thought about bring my family to this show, and I didn’t regret it. My family is the traditional Vietnamese family and they really did enjoyed the show. If you’re in Hanoi, go and watch it, you may enjoy it like me and family did. I really appreciated that they also personally came to deliver the tickets to my location, saved me time and the hassle.
