What to Expect
This 3-day bike tour is a treat for mountain bikers who want to experience village life in Vietnam in a remote setting, cycling to hill tribe settlements along single track paths, undulating rough trails, and steep climbs followed by thrilling descents.
During the tour, you will pass through many villages, come across lush rice paddies, and enjoy stunning valley views. Meet the White Tai Vietnamese to learn about their culture, and spend the night in a local homestay.
Transfer from your hotel in Hanoi and drive to the village of Poom Coong. Once you’ve been kitted out on your bike, take a short ride through the White Tai tribal villages, before lunch at a traditional village house.
Continue along good single track paths, and undulating jeep trails, gazing all the while at the vast sea of terraced rice fields. Your accommodation for the night will be a local homestay in Cun Pheo village.
Today's ride is remote and challenging, biking above the valley to look down on small hamlets. Then, cruise back down to Mai Chau for an overnight stay in the luxury Mai Chau Lodge. Rest your weary muscles and refresh your mind with a sumptuous dinner. Let the blend of history and nature envelop you.
After your night of pampering, cycle on single track paths to ethnic villages, pedaling over wooden bridges and through the patchwork quilt of rice paddies in the lush green valley.
Transfer back to Hanoi and gather for one last farewell dinner.
