Join us on a 3-day trek and homestay in Mai Chau, Vietnam. This scenic mountainous area is inhabited by Thai and H’mong ethnic minority groups. The tour gives you an opporutnity to get to know a local family and to appreciate the beauty of the area.
What to Expect
Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau – Xo Village (L/D)
On our first day we leave Hanoi at 08:30 for Mai Chau. After a scenic 4-hour bus ride we reach Pom Coong, where the Thai ethnic minority people of Mai Chau valley live. We’ll have lunch in Pom Coong and then enjoy an easy walk in the afternoon on village roads to Xo, another Thai ethnic minority village. You’ll have dinner and spend the night in a local homestay.
Day 2: Xo Village – Buoc Village – Van Village (B/L/D)
After breakfast at the homestay we’ll say goodbye to our hosts and walk to Buoc Village. On the way we’re likely to see villagers working in rice paddies and children heading to school. We’ll stop for lunch along the way. Then, in the afternoon, we’ll reach the lovely village of Van. This is where we’ll spend the second night, with a local family in a homestay.
Day 3: Van Village – Buoc Village – Van Mai Village – Hanoi (B/L)
We’ll start the day with breakfast at the homestay and then go for an easy trek along village roads that run between mountains and rice paddies. Our lunch stop will be at Van Mai village at around 11:30. We’ll have lunch before leaving on the bus for our return to Hanoi.
Our expected arrival time in Hanoi is around 17:30.
