Spend a day learning about Hanoi culture and history and taking in the city’s top sights. Start at Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum complex, visit the Temple of Literature, see centrally located Hoan Kiem Lake, and enjoy a 1-hour cyclo ride in the old quarter.
What to Expect
At around 08:00 you’ll be picked up at your hotel to begin your full-day tour by air-conditioned bus or van.
Starting out in the city’s old quarter you’ll continue on to the Ho Chi Minh complex, where you’ll see the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the final resting place of the country’s great father, and Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house, where he lived on and off from 1958 to 1969. Learn about the man, and what he did for Vietnam and other countries in the region.
See the 1-Pillar Pagoda, a group of structures comprising a pagoda and a tower built in the middle of a square lake.
Next on the itinerary is the Temple of literature, the site of the first university established in Vietnam. The Temple is dedicated to Confucius.
At around 12:30, you’ll stop to enjoy a Vietnamese lunch, before visiting the Ethnology Museum, where you’ll learn about about the cultures, customs, languages, and lifestyles of the 54 ethnic groups that live in Vietnam.
Then, with the next 1-hour cyclo around Hanoi's Old Quarter, you are promised to get a slow-speed view of a maze of labyrinthine streets as the daily life of the locals. The last stop on your city tour is Hoan Kiem Lake with its Ngoc Son temple.
At approximately 16:30, the tour ends at your hotel.
