You will be picked up from your hotel or pick-up place by your English-speaking guide who will give you an insight into the traditions of Vietnamese food culture. Start by walking through the maze of bustling streets that make up Hanoi’s Old Quarter, first visiting the colorful local markets where you will meet stall holders and talk to them about their food. Continue along both high streets and back streets exploring the many corners in Hanoi’s Old Quarter that you usually never see, and enjoy the elegance of Hanoi, through the tranquil French Quarter.
You will taste local food, various meats and vegetables and drinking endless local beverages, all while chatting with street vendors. Watch in awe as the skilled chefs demonstrate for you how this tasty dish is put together and share their views about Vietnam culture through traditional food. Finally, the local guide will then take you to one of Hanoi’s best, a hidden café with stunning views over the picturesque Hoan Kiem Lake. This hard-to-find café is one of the few left in the city that still serves egg coffee, a scrumptious local delicacy that we will sample whilst admiring the bustle of the city centre.
The purpose of this tour is to provide the traveler with a unique opportunity to experience and learn about the exciting history and exceptional culture, as well as distinctive architecture of Hanoi by following its unique cuisine trail (and to ensure the food is hygienically handled and provide a comfortable venue for the tastings). The benefit also goes back to the vendors.
