Travel north from Hanoi on a day tour that will take you up into the Tam Dao range, an area refreshed by cool mountain breezes. Discover a place that was the favorite of French colonists in the 19th century and admire the French architectural influence.
What to Expect
You’ll depart from Hanoi at 08:00 on this full-day trip to the Tam Dao mountains, located around 80 kilometers north of the Vietnamese capital. Reaching an elevation of around 1,000 meters you’ll enjoy pleasant temperatures that range from 18-25 degrees Celsius.
Tam Dao town was built by French colonists in the early 19th century, as a place to retreat from the heat in the low-lying areas. The majestic and fanciful landscape here is refreshed by clouds and fog that hide and then reveal the houses that have been built along the mountain’s edge.
During your day at Tam Dao you’ll have a chance to take a dip in a pool half-way up the mountain. You’ll see the Silver Waterfall and visit the Goddess of the Jungle’s temple. Lunch is included on the tour.
