The Perfume Pagoda is one of the highlights of the Hanoi area and one of the most important religious sites for Buddhists in Vietnam, and you will explore it on this full-day guided tour.
What to Expect
The Perfume Pagoda is situated in a huge cave built into limestone cliffs and can only be reached by boat, as there are no roads. You will glide along scenic waterways and walk up steep mountain paths, visiting the pagodas and temples built in this area over the centuries. Your guide and driver will collect you in the morning from your hotel in Hanoi's Old Quarter, before you embark on a 1.5-hour drive.
After the drive, take an hour-long row-boat trip to Thien Tru harbor, before trekking up to the main cave. Arrive at Huong Tich cave and soak up the unique atmosphere. Lunch will be served at the local restaurant at the bottom of the mountain. After lunch, you will see the Thien Tru Pagoda and learn more about ancient Buddhist architecture from the Le Dynasty. Then you will return by row-boat and road to arrive back at your hotel for around 18:00.
