What People Are Saying About Hanoi
We are extremely pleased to report that our 3 guides from GetYourGuide are excellent in their volunteer guide. They are understanding and flexible in the planning. Lunch was authentic grilled fish recommended by one of the guide. Overall it is was an enriching experience and we will definitely recommend to our friends.
Our guide is caring and knowledgeable. She speaks good English and is able to explain the history and surroundings to us in that half day. She helped us navigate those busy streets in Old Quarter so effortlessly. Good job Hana. We got to have a sumptuous and excellent value for money meal from her recommendation. She also showed us where to buy the Vietnamese coffee. It was absolutely awesome.
We booked a half day tour through the French and Old Quarter as well as around the lake. We had an excellent guide called Emily who showed us some very interesting places and told us lots about the country and its history. We had been on other tours around Hanoi, but this was the best.
The volunteer guide was very kind and helpful, I recommend this tour to people traveling alone and wanting to know the Vietnamese culture and history from the point of view of a inhabitant.
Our guide met us at our hotel punctually. We had been to Hanoi before, so we wanted to avoid the obvious and enjoy a less touristy experience. As a result we wandered by the lake and she took is to her favourite coffee house with a magnificent view of the lake. We wandered the old quarter, sharing local drinks. We asked to go to the Women's Museum and her insights into the culture and history were invaluable. We visited I side the Catholic Cathedral then our guide suggested Hue style food for lunch. We ended up in an amazing restaurant we would never have found on our own, eating food we would never have ordered which proved to be delicious. Overall. Our 5 hours with our guide , enjoying the sights, experiences and conversation was a wonderful experience.
