What to Expect
Start your journey in the morning with first stop at Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Presidential Palace - special historical sites built as a memorial to President Ho Chi Minh. You also take a look at One Pillar Pagoda - an iconic Buddhist temple in Hanoi located next to one side of the mausoleum. Then enjoy a drive out to the outskirt of Hanoi to visit Museum of Ethnology, widely acknowledged as the best museum in the country; and having an extensive display dedicated to Vietnam’s 54 ethnic minority. Here you can see various colorful traditional costume of different ethnic groups.
After having lunch (at your own cost), continue to visit Temple of Literature (a temple to Confucius) - the first Vietnam University dating back to 1070. Here you can discover more about the traditional costume of Vietnamese King and Queen dressed in the past. Afterwards, drop in a traditional brocade costume workshop supported by World Bank & NGOs in Poverty Reduction Project to take part in a short course of approximately 2 hours learning how to dye indigo clothes and make your own dye pattern handkerchief under guidance of local artists. After completing your work, you can bring it home as gift. You can also have a chance to dress up in impressive traditional costumes here & take gorgeous photos. Afterwards, your guide will take you back to your hotel.
