What to Expect
You’ll be picked up at your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter at around 08:15 for the 3.5-hour drive through the countryside of north-eastern Vietnam. The route crosses the Red River and through the country’s second-largest delta on the way to Halong Bay.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi to Halong Bay Cruise (L, D)
The bus will drop you off at Tuan Chau International Marina, which is the harbor of Halong’s largest island. You’ll travel by tender from here to your Halong Phoenix Cruiser, and enjoy a welcome drink as soon as you board.

As you make yourself comfortable in your deluxe cabin, the boat heads to the center of the World Heritage Site of Halong Bay. Next on the itinerary is lunch in the boat’s restaurant. Enjoy fresh local seafood, or vegetarian dishes if you prefer.

The cruiser passes by Dog Head and Swan islands, Ba Hang floating village, and Incense Burner and Thumb islands, before reaching Sung Sot cave.

Take a short tender ride to visit to famous cave. Enjoy an hour of exploring the limestone cave and then transfer by tender to Titop Island for a swim. If you’d like, you can challenge yourself by climbing up to the top of the island for the panoramic views.

As the sun sets over the bay, you’ll return to the boat and relax on the sun deck with coffee, tea, and fruit, or you can order your favorite drink from the bar.

Dinner typically features local seafood, after which you are free to enjoy a drink or try your hand at squid fishing before heading to bed.

Day 2: Halong Bay Cruise to Hanoi (L, D)
If you rise early you can practice Tai Chi on the sun deck and marvel at the stunning scenery of the bay at dawn. A buffet breakfast is served from 07:30, before you head out on an hour of kayaking around the Luom Bo area of the bay.

Your guide will show you safety guidelines and paddling techniques before helping you onto your sit-on-top kayak. The area where you’ll paddle so peaceful you won’t see any other boats or kayakers!

At around 10:00 you’ll enjoy a cooking demonstration that shows you how to make Vietnamese spring rolls, learning the ingredients and techniques that go into one of the most popular dishes in the country.

Lunch will be served on board when you are close to the harbor. At 12:00 you’ll take the tender back to the harbor, where the bus will leave for Hanoi at around 12:30. You’ll arrive at your Hanoi hotel at approximately 16:30.
