Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City Arrival & Afternoon Saigon City Tour (Lunch)
You’ll be welcomed on arrival at the Ho Chi Minh airport and transferred to your city hotel. Enjoy Lunch at local restaurant before visiting the major attraction of Saigon, including the Unification Palace, War Remains Museum, Notre Dame Church, and the City Post Office.
In the evening you’ll take a walk around the Ben Thanh night market to experience the city’s bustling night life, and have dinner at food stall (not included in the tour price). Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 2: Rural Mekong Delta Tour by Vintage Army Jeep (My Tho to Ben Tre) (Breakfast)
Your adventure begins at 07:30 when your guide picks you up at the hotel and you head out by Jeep on a photo rally through rural Vietnam. The Jeep will wind its way along a rural route with stops to visit an ancient fortress, an incense workshop, and a village that produces the finest furniture in the South. On the way you’ll pass by remote village and green paddies and see farmers at work in the fields.
When your reach My Tho, at the heart of Mekong Delta, you’ll take a boat trip on the mighty Mekong River to visit local handicraft villages and observe daily life along the river. Head back to Ho Chi Minh City in the late afternoon. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 3: Long Tan & Nui Dat Battle Field (Breakfast; Lunch)
Long Tan is deeply etched into ANZAC folklore. Visit the former site of Australia’s Nui Dat Task Force Base and drive past the location of Horseshoe FSB (access is not permitted due to the continued presence of land mines), continuing on to the Discourtesy Rubber Plantation. Visit the Long Tan Cross Memorial, a focal point for remembrance, and then Long Phuoc Tunnels.
Afterwards you’ll be transferred back to your hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 4: Dalat City Tour (Afternoon) (Breakfast; Lunch)
In the morning you’ll be transferred to the Ho Chi Minh City airport for the flight to Dalat. In Dalat you’ll visit Tuyen Lam Lake, Truc Lam Zen Monastery, and Bao Dao Summer Palace. Stop at the XQ Embroidery Gallery and Domain De Marie Church before returning to your hotel. Overnight in Dalat.
Day 5: Tiger Cave Falls Hardcore Trek (Breakfast; Lunch)
Depart from your hotel in Dalat city heading eastward to the trailhead of Tiger Cave Waterfalls, where you’ll start your 6-hour trek. Hike up a steep trail through the pine forest to the Tiger Cave Waterfalls, and then downhill, passing streams and coffee plantations and over the Langbian River by an enormous suspension bridge.
Next you’ll make a steep, slow ascent to the top of the hill, where you’ll find the isolated Chil Hill Tribe village, Lieng Tro. Enjoy lunch with picturesque views of farmland, traditional tiny houses, and forest. After visiting the village you’ll trek back to the trailhead to meet up with your vehicle and return to your hotel. Overnight in Dalat.
Day 6: Cycling North of Dalat (20-35 Kilometers) (Breakfast; Lunch)
Warm up with 7 kilometers of road cycling, enjoying the fantastic views of Xuan Huong Lake and Victory Lake. You’ll see flower and vegetable farms on both sides of the road before heading into an area of hilly forest. Stop for a picnic lunch in the Valley of Love, with breads and typical fresh fruits and vegetables from Dalat.
After lunch, you’ll ride on a single lane trail through a deep and vast pine forest. Finish the off-road ride when you arrive at XQ Embroidery village, where you’ll admire their amazing handcrafted works of art.
Visit Van Hanh Zen Monastery with its golden Buddha statue, and then bike the 20 minutes back to your hotel. Overnight in Dalat.
Day 7: Old Hue City via Hai Van Pass (Breakfast; Lunch)
Start the day with a morning flight from Dalat to Da Nang. At the Da Nang airport, you’ll be welcomed and transferred to Hue City on an unforgettable drive through the fantastic Hai Van Pass. At the top of the pass, you’ll stop to admire the views.
After a 2.5-hour ride you’ll arrive in Hue and have lunch at a local restaurant. Enjoy an afternoon city tour, stopping first to visit the Hue Citadel. Later you’ll board a boat for a trip on the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda, one of the oldest structures for religious worship in Hue. You’ll have the evening free. Overnight in Hue.
Day 8 Cycling from Hue to DMZ & Rustic Chay Lap Homestay (60 Kilometers) (Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner)
After breakfast you’ll be transferred by van to Quang Tri Province, where you’ll start your morning of cycling, visiting some of the sites that remain along the DMZ (Demilitarized Military Zone). See Hien Luong Bridge and the Vinh Moc Tunnels. Stop for a picnic lunch en route.
In the afternoon you’ll be back on your bike riding along the small route via Ho Xa Town to the Ho Chi Minh Trail. You’ll cycle a further 10 kilometers on this historical road and then transfer to Chay village in Quang Binh Province. A buffalo cart will take you to the homestay in Rustic Chay Lap.
You’ll be invited to prepare dinner with your host, learning how to cook Vietnamese steamed fish with beer and local herbs. Enjoy your dinner, the starry night, and the soothing sounds of nature. Overnight in rustic Chay Lap (Quang Binh).
Day 9: Chay Lap – Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park – Hue (40 Kilometers Cycling; 1 Hour Kayaking) (Breakfast; Lunch)
After breakfast with your host, you’ll start the bike ride to Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park. Hear the call of the wild and the sounds of primates echoing off the stunning limestone cliffs on the western Ho Chi Minh Trail. The newly paved single-lane road snakes through one of Vietnam’s most important conservation areas and most important historic trails from the time of the war.
Hop off your bike and spend an hour kayaking on the Chay River. Afterwards you’ll resume pedaling around the national park, taking in the fresh air. If you like you can keep on cycling to the Hang 8 Co, a memorial for the volunteers who died while building and maintaining Highway 20 during the war. A picnic lunch will be served in the park.
In the afternoon you’ll transfer to a wooden boat on the Son River to visit Phong Nha Cave. Return to Hue in the late afternoon. Overnight in Hue.
Day 10: Hue – Hoi An (Breakfast)
In the morning you’ll head out on a 3-hour drive to ancient Hoi An town. In the afternoon enjoy a guided walk in the old town. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 11: Hoi An Free Day (Breakfast)
Day 12: Flight to Hanoi (Breakfast)
Day 13: Hanoi – Halong Bay (Cruise & 90 Minutes Soft Kayaking (Breakfast; Lunch; Dinner)
You’ll be picked up at your hotel and head out on the 3.5-hour drive to Halong. When you arrive in Halong, you’ll board a cruise boat. Enjoy a welcome drink and lunch as the boat cruises the bay. Take in the beautiful limestone formations, such as the Fighting Cock, Dog Rock, and Incense Burner.
After visiting Amazing Cave you’ll have a chance to do some snorkeling or go kayaking to Luon Cave. A fresh fruit platter will be served, followed by dinner. Overnight onboard the cruise boat.
Day 14: Halong Bay – Hanoi (Breakfast; Lunch)
Enjoy breakfast at sunrise and a cruise to another part of Halong Bay, taking in close-up views of stunning limestone peaks, such as Drum Cave and Man’s Head Islet.
Head to Van Gia fishing village to learn about the daily life of local fishermen. Enjoy a variety of local foods during lunch on the boat.
A shuttle bus transfer will take you back to Hanoi, arriving at around 16:30. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 15: Full Day Hanoi City (Breakfast)
With the architectural style of a French provincial town, tree-lined boulevards, and substantial low-rise houses, Hanoi is a wonderfully nostalgic city to explore. On this tour you’ll visit the city’s main attractions, including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and Palace, the 1-Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, and the Ethnology Museum. See Hoan Kiem Lake and the Ngoc Son Temple and then take a 1-hour cyclo tour through the streets of the Old Quarter.
Later in the afternoon you’ll attend the traditional Water Puppet Show. The day ends with an optional trip by motorbike to a local beer restaurant where locals gather after work. Taste the popular local fresh draft beer (at your own expense). Overnight in Hanoi.

• In the case of a force majeure, unusual or unforeseen circumstances outside the control of Adventure Holidays – Asia, alternative tours will be offered by Adventure Holidays – Asia at no surcharge, or the customer may choose to claim a full refund of the tour price paid
