Hanoi: Water Puppet Show Ticket with Hotel Delivery Add-On

Book tickets in advance for the best seats for the show for 50 minutes at your preferred timing. Skip the lines to the Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre and experience one of Vietnam's most distinctive art forms live on stage.  See a unique art form that originates over 1,000 years ago in the Red River Delta. In the past, water puppetry showed the daily life of villagers such as farming, fishing and romance. Now, watch plays about ancient Vietnamese legends, myths and history. The world-famous Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre in Hanoi has its roots in an art form that dates back to the 11th century. The tradition of water puppet theater stems from a time when rice paddy fields were flooded and villagers would create entertainment by standing in the waist-deep water with the puppets performing over the water. Using large rods to support the puppets it appeared as if they were moving across the water with the puppeteers hidden behind a screen.

Everything from start to finish was seamless. Comfortable, air conditioned bus was exactly on time. The cruise was great fun and we were lucky to have a great group of fellow passengers ... we ended up eating dinner as one large group and the staff were very accommodating despite the difficulties this must have caused them. We loved the bamboo boat trip and the caves. Special thanks to Tom who was a very attentive guide, Amy who was a ray of sunshine in the dining room, and Peter who was fun and humorous during his cooking demo.

A really excellent experience. Mr Lucas from Blue Asia Tours ensured we were informed and treated well every step of the way including an upgrade on the cruise boat. Transportation to/from Hanoi/Halong was in small vans that were extremely comfortable. The cruise was nicely done, on Aqua of the Seas. Large, well outfitted room with several activities over the course of the day. The food was good and the Happy Hour was fun. I can strongly recommend booking with GYG, Mr Lucas, and Aqua of the Seas. A wonderful experience!

Loved every bit of the tour. Fortunately the weather was perfect and all the locations were picturesque! Our tour guide (Dat) was a breath of fresh air. He spoke English fluently, and was always happy to chat and crack a joke. The bus driver did a great job navigating the often hectic traffic. So thankful for a great trip.

Had a lovely over night cruise in Ha Long Bay, Mr Lucas was the ideal support for travel and all the other needs you could think of, everything went flawlessly, thanks for the great organisation, would definitely recommend!

Sunny was a great guide. Would totally recommend the trip. We had a great day in ha long bay and got to see the hotspots.
