What to Expect
Enjoy the Mai Chau countryside and visit ethnic minority villages on a 2-day cycling tour. Get to know the local culture, take in amazing views of mountains and paddy fields, and stay overnight in an eco-stilt guesthouse.
Day 1: Hanoi to Mai Chau
You’ll leave Hanoi at around 08:00 for the trip to Mai Chau. Enjoy the fantastic countryside scenery of northern Vietnam en route. When you arrive in Mai Chau you’ll begin a half day of peaceful cycling along the Hoa Binh reservoir (approximately 45 kilometers).
The views are amazing and the green lake stretches out in the distance to your right and the mountains stretch to the sky on your left. You’ll feel a closeness with the natural surroundings, and have the opportunity to get acquainted with the local culture. Overnight in a Poom Coom village guesthouse.
Included on Day 1: transfer, guide, basic guest house accommodation, entrance fees, lunch, dinner, mountain bike, helmet, snack, water, and fruit
Day 2: Mai Chau and return to Hanoi
You’ll have an early start to take full advantage of the day. Cycle from village to village, covering a distance of around 30 kilometers.
Highlights include cycling along small village paths at the foot of the mountains. Interact with locals from the Thai and Muong ethnic minorities. Enjoy lunch at Poom Coom village. When you finish cycling you’ll head back to Hanoi, in the early evening.
