Full description
Experience Hamburg's St. Pauli neighborhood! St. Pauli is not only the city’s red-light district - it is also a residential area known for its bars, cafés, and much more. Learn lots of interesting things, such as where the border used to lie between St. Pauli and the formerly Danish city of Altona. You will also find out why St. Pauli once had a king. Tour highlights include Herbertstrasse, the Silbersack Bar, and the Große Freiheit, where the Beatles performed when they were first starting out. You'll also visit nightclubs with desk phones, see an air-raid shelter, and view Herbertstrasse from the outside, since women aren't allowed to enter. Soak up the neighborhood's unique atmosphere! Explore St. Pauli's exceptional past and go to the places where Freddy Quinn was discovered, where the Beatles held their first concerts, and where Hildegard Knef fell off a bar stool. Find out where Germany's first movie theater was located, and learn about the curiosities that awaited its visitors.

Cheers to Hamburg and Jürgen our tour guide. we were 6 girls and did a super great neighborhood tour through St.Pauli with Jürgen. He explained everything to us with a lot of wit and charm and a lot of passion. We learned a lot and we take some tips with us for the next trip to Hamburg. Private tour due to missing additional guests

we thank you for a super exclusive tour of the Kiez, due to the lack of other guests we could enjoy the private tour, it is absolutely recommendable and the detour to the selected Kiez pub was simply brilliant ... Many interesting details about the development and current Get situation at the neighborhood to just get a different picture ... Always happy!

Simply incredible. If you only get one day in Hamburg, do this tour!!

We ended up having a private tour since we were the only ones that booked that night, even though it was a Friday night. Our guide was incredible - she knew everything about everything and had knowledge and experience way more in depth than I ever expected coming into this, and she was absolutely hilarious to boot! She had recommendations for everything, never skipped a beat or a building of interest, and her stories she had of relevant previous experiences as a guide in this area were both incredibly informative beyond what you'd normally ever get to hear and incredibly interesting to listen to. Could not recommend this more. If you do only one tour in Hamburg, make it this one!!
