Full description
Experience traditional and modern Hamburg on this tour of the harbor area. See two completely different locales growing together: the historical port city and the new HafenCity. Discover the highlights of both districts. See where the Notruf Hafenkante TV series was filmed. Catch a look at the Spice Museum, the biggest model railway in the world, and the uncanny Hamburg Dungeon. Immerse yourself in the Hamburg of today at the old power plant, where a model of the HafenCity allows you to follow the district's development before you see it in person. On the way you'll find the traditional ship harbor, the Magellan Terraces, the Sandtorpark, and the HafenCity primary school, which has its playground on the roof. You'll also discover Hamburg's new landmark, the Elbphilharmonie, which you can buy tickets for after the tour has finished.

Engaging, well-paced tour in English

We were happy to fin a provider for a ca. 2-hour walking tour of Hamburg's warehouse, harbor and "Hafencity" districts at rather short notice. The guide met us precisely as planned (an clearly explained) an showe us al the highlights, taking time to answer our questions and able and wiling to discuss more about our special interests (housing equity, Hansestadt trading history, etc.) with individuals on the tour while walking and over a coffee break, which made for a welcome pause.

Great service, really lovely tour

Great service, since even though it was just the two of us the tour still took place (it was like a private tour). The guide explained everything in a really lively way, not too dry, we got ice cream in the Unilever building and he gave us lots of tips along the way. We would have taken more tours with this provider but unfortunately we were already going home the following day.

Exciting, interesting, lively and entertaining.

Interesting tour. The guide did a good job explaining everything. She seemed very professional and knew a lot. We gained good insight into previous times, when Hamburg was still a free harbor. We also learned lots of things worth knowing about the new buildings, the harbor city, the Elb Philharmonic...
