Discover the beauty of Hamburg on this 2.5-hour tour of the city center to the Speicherstadt and HafenCity. Marvel at the impressive Town Hall, see St. Nicholas' Church, and enjoy the maritime atmosphere of the Hanseatic city.
What to Expect
Explore the heart of Hamburg and admire the magnificent Town Hall in Neo-Renaissance style. Enjoy the Italian flair of the Alsterarkaden and listen to stories about the Jungfernstieg, the Alster Pavilion, and the Alter swans. After taking a look at the Neuer Wall, continue on to the foyer of the Town Hall and the inner courtyard. Marvel at the Hygieia fountain and see the first stock exchange in Germany.
Walk across Trostbrücke, where the Port of Hamburg was founded many years ago. See St. Nicholas' Church before turning onto the traditional Deichstraße with a stunning view of St. Michael’s Church. Embark on a journey through time to the Great Fire of Hamburg and explore the historical Speicherstadt (warehouse district).
From here, continue with a romantic view of the Speicherstadt canals towards HafenCity, the brand new district with modern architecture – a pearl of urban planning. From the Magellan Terraces you can enjoy the stunning views of the new landmark of Hamburg – the Elbe Philharmonic Hall – which has been under construction since April 2007 and will be opened in 2017 as a concert hall in HafenCity. The 110-meter-high building with the glass structure is reminiscent of the waves of the Elbe River.
With a little luck you can see one of the famous cruise ships at the cruise ship terminal at the end of the tour.
