Full description
Today, Hamburg is known as a modern and busy city, but how did it develop into the modern big city of today? Explore the different epochs of Hamburg’s city history on a two-hour sightseeing walking tour. Starting with the origins of Hammaburg, through the period of the Hanseatic league, the big city fire, the colonial time and the industrial revolution, get to know how history shaped Hamburg’s urban development. On your way from the town hall to Deichstraße, discover the oldest traces of the city, take a look at the inside of representative Kontorhäuser (office buildings) and experience the picturesque flair of the last relics of the medieval old town. Apart from architectural highlights and insider tips, social aspects will also be part of the topic of the tour. At the end of our tour, the different aspects of history will form a general overview of Hamburg’s urban development. Not far away from the new Elbe Philharmonic Hall, you might adumbrate what Hamburg’s future is going to look like.

    Very interesting, very good guide.

Despite the fact that I arrived several minutes before the start, the guide had already begun. In addition, he behaved degradingly towards me, to a degree where I chose to go.
