Explore the historical Speicherstadt (warehouse district) with its canals, the modern HafenCity, the numerous bridges over the Elbe River, busy locks and container terminals, the Köhlbrand Bridge, and much more. Along the way, learn more about the city, its history, the incoming and outgoing ships, and anything else that interests you. Sit back and admire the views of the city on the sun deck or in the air-conditioned lounge with large panoramic windows.

Know before you go

  • Please note that tours of the Speicherstadt (warehouse district) are dependent on the water levels. It is not possible to cruise through the narrow waterways during high and low water levels
  • Summer & Fall: In good weather conditions and with high demand, boats depart every 5-15 minutes. In moderate to bad weather, you can board the boat at any time and boats depart every 30-40 minutes
  • During Winter & Spring: In moderate to bad weather, you can board the boat at any time, boats depart every 45 minutes
  • Boats have an open or closed glass roof depending on the weather conditions
  • Transportation of wheelchairs is only possible on a large passenger ship. Please contact the tour operator if required
  • Boarding on the barge: St. Pauli Landing Stages, Bridge 1
  • Boarding on the passenger ship: St. Pauli Landing Stages, Bridge 4-9 (please register at Bridge 4)

We did not have a guide. Recorded info in German and couldn’t get the app to work for English. Great tour and views and one hour is perfect.

Surprised how interesting this tour would be because it also delved into the history and modern day mechanics of a large operational harbor. We were able to see parts of Hamburg that would be much harder to access on land. And as a bonus the guide's voice and dictation over the speaker was incredible. Would highly recommend this tour!
