Yala National Park Safari Tours : 7 hours & 12 hours

Amazing full day safari in Yala! Our driver and guide Ishan was stellar at scouting where to go. He was always super attentive, even when the rest of us were getting sleepy. I don’t know how he does 12-hour game drives every day. We managed to see 3 leopards on the road! 2 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon. Many elephants as well, and we got incredibly close to some of the females while they ate peacefully, as well as 3 young ones. We also a few lonesome males, one of them with tusks! Tons of black-footed gray langur monkeys, peacocks, a handful of painted storks and much more. The full-day was tiring and we could’ve gotten away with just the half-day, but I say this in hindsight as we saw everything we wanted to see before 12pm. The Sri Lanka breakfast and lunch were pretty great, and the rest spot by the ocean was amazing, though hot even with the breeze. It’s a long 2 hours of break, so be prepared if you decide to do the full-day. Again, huge thanks to Ishan!
