Itineraary: Hotel pick up ( Recommended starting time: 7:30am as there are closing times for all the tourist spots and traffic of Beijing is so bad adding long drive from the wall to the city center) Firstly, we will drive to the Tian'anmen Square, starting our tour from the iconic place of China, walk through the whole square to the Forbidden City. Start to explore the Forbidden City, which was the home for 24 emperors from 1420 to 1924. It was built by Emperor Zhudi of Ming Dynasty. The last emperor Puyi of Qing dynasty’s was expelled from the Forbidden City by the warlord in 1924. In the Forbidden City, we will tour the Forbidden City along the central axis of it which is called the emperor’s way, all of the most important and highest ranking buildings were built on it. Enter the Forbidden City from the Meridian Gate ( formal entrance of the Forbidden City) We will tour the political center in the south: 4 main places to see which are the Gate of Supreme Harmony for daily court, Hall of Supreme Harmony, Hall of Middle Harmony and Hall of Preserving Harmony they three together for holding ceremonies. After the political center, we will walk northward to tour the harem of the emperor to see the Palace of Heavenly Purity which the office of emperor, Hall of Union and Palace of Earthly Tranquility for the empress. We will end the Forbidden City from the beautiful imperial garden decorated with unique rockeries, beautiful flowers and trees, different kinds of fancy pavilions and Taoism temples. After the Forbidden City, we will drive to a nice local restaurant near the Great Wall of China. Lunch costs are at your own expense.(Your guide will recommend a nice local restaurant for you) After lunch, we enjoy the hiking on the Great Wall of China at Mutianyu section. This section is super entertaining, a lot choices for tourists to choose, cable car rides, chairlift and the most exciting slide down of the mountain.
