4. From Tokyo: Guided Day Trip to Hakone, Owakudani & Mt. Fuji

The changes in plans that come with winter. First and foremost, we had to change the restaurant's lunch hours from January 1st to February 13th to accommodate the restaurant's winter breaks. In the winter, Mount Fuji is covered in snow, making it dangerous to go to the 5th point on top. Due to you want to safely enjoy the view of Mount Fuji, we move to a different spot. The second change is that the rope way route will be shorter from February 14 to March 18. This is because the ropeways need to be fixed. If you want to enjoy a relaxing day away from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo, this one-day tour to Hakone, Owakudani, and Mt. Fuji is what you need. Board the bus from Shinjuku, the heart of this busy city. The bus will take you away from your routine and let you breathe fresh air by the lake in the Hakone area. Start your day journey by cruising using the famous Hakone Pirate Ship. This beautiful ship will take you from Motohakone Pier to Togendai Pier in 25 minutes. Indulge your eyes with its magnificent exterior and interior design. After being awed by the pirate ship, rest a little bit while having lunch. Get ready to be amazed by the view from the Hakone ropeway. After lunch, this tour will take you from Togendai to Owakudani in 30 minutes using Hakone Ropeway. It has a signature view for each season throughout the year. The area around the crater created by the last eruption of Mt. Hakone, which occurred roughly 3000 years ago, is known as Owakudani. Sulfur fumes, hot springs, and hot rivers can be experienced throughout a large portion of the region, which is currently an active volcanic area. On a clear day, Owakudani also offers a fantastic glimpse of Mt. Fuji. We avoided the 5th station on Mt. Fuji from January 1 to March 18 due to snow instead of Oshino Hakkai. On March 19th, the Fuji 5th station the start visit is scheduled [Upon arriving at Mt. Fuji 5th Station, spend 40 minutes discovering and soaking in the breathtaking views of Japan. A well-known symbol of Japan standing at 3776 meters high, the spectacular Mt.Fuji has made the subject of literature and art throughout Japanese history. After that, you will be brought back to Tokyo.] Oshino Hakkai is a Unesco World Cultural Heritage Site located atop Mount Fuji. You have the option to explore eight picturesque ponds, or you may unintentionally wander and stumble onto a quaint and historic village as you relish the awe-inspiring and grand vista of Mt. Fuji. It is particularly lovely during the winter, making it an experience you should not miss.

What people are saying about Hakone

A really fantastic day that we will remember as one of the highlights of our trip to Tokyo! Incredible views of Mt Fuji, amazing to see the volcanic vents from the cable car. Our guide Kenjo was lovely

Very lucky with the weather that it had snowed and was a very clear day. Amazing views of Mt Fuji. However, due to the wind we were unable to do the big boat cruise. Otherwise an awesome day out.

Very lucky with the weather for this trip. Excellent views of Mt Fuji throughout the day. Included cable car / rope ride and dragon ferry trip. Topped off with a bullet train ride back to Tokyo.

Levin was amazing - Mount Fuji was too. Every viewing point we proceeded to, had the clearest views. I loved this trip, coming all the way from London just to see the beauty of Mount Fuji.

Can’t fault the guide or the transportation. Only wished had gone in better weather.
