I love horses and used to ride ( own my own) when I was younger, my partner has only ridden once before as a child and fell off so is not very keen on horses or confident around them so this activity was definitely for me. we were booked on the "comfort tour" at 9am so as it was January the sun was only just coming up which was lovely. The hack was a 50 minute walk around some snowy tracks and back to the barn, the horses knew their jobs well and just followed each other nice and steady. The guide was knowledge about the horses and the surrounding area so was easy to chat to while enjoying the beautiful scenery, she also stopped and took photos of us on our horses while we were out. I would have enjoyed a bit more of an exciting faster ride but for my partner this was perfect and he was definitely more relaxed on a horse by the time we got back.

Start your day off with a horse riding adventure in Iceland and explore the unspoiled beauty of its nature in comfort. Our horse riding tour is designed especially for beginners, who want to experience the thrill of riding the amazing Icelandic horse while enjoying the breathtaking scenery around them.



Led by experienced guides, you will take a ride through moss-covered lava fields and along riding paths, surrounded by stunning vistas of Iceland's nature, like the panoramic view of the majestic Bláfjöll mountains. Our guides will ensure that you feel safe and comfortable during the ride, and will make sure that you have plenty of opportunities to get to know the Icelandic horse.



After the tour, we invite you to relax and enjoy complimentary coffee, tea, and hot chocolate at our stables. Our friendly staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the Icelandic horse, its history, and its unique characteristics.

Includes

  • Riding helmets, rubber boots, and rain-wear/warm outfit during the ride.
  • Trained guides who speak multiple languages (English, Scandinavian and German).
  • Please note that it is not allowed to ride with backpacks or bags but Íshestar provides complimentary safety boxes at the stables for valuables.
