The driver was very efficient in communicating with me, both when I booked in New Zealand and just before the trip. He arrived before the scheduled time and gave interesting comments on landscape on the drive to and from the sanctuary. He came into the sanctuary with me when I arrived as I do not speak Italian, to ensure I had everything I needed to enjoy the visit. I have wanted to see La Verna for a long time, and after my group pilgrimage was cancelled, this driver service enabled me to do that.

Paola is possibly the sweetest and most wonderful Nonna (your Italian grandma) on the planet. Fantastic and simple instruction, delicious food and wine, and she even followed up with us via WhatsApp with the recipes! Her home (and the view!!!) are as beautiful as she is. Don’t hesitate. This class will make your trip and leave your belly — and your heart — full!!

Our host Paola was lovely and so gracious. We appreciated her sharing traditional Umbrian food and traditions with us. We felt very at home and enjoyed the shopping experiences at the butcher and the truffle and cheese shop. If you want a taste of Umbria, this is the way to do it!!
