I really enjoy the whole tour. Hiking, swimming in the nature pool, in the cave, jumping in to the river, swinging and jumping into the river and turbing to the end. It was fun and challenging.

Really glad we made this booking - probably not as cheap as the ones booked locally but it was just the four of us on the transfer. Just myself at the back with the guide. But we saw pick-ups with about 10 people on them. Our whole group was conveniently small. Loved the small hike up to the viewing spot, then down to the pools with guidance on how to move down from one to the other and back up. And even though it started raining, the trip to the caves was great. I’d really recommend water shoes and a waterproof headlamp though, to make it easier to move around. Overall our guide Felix was great and really supportive, making sure we were all good and together. This was a great booking.

Full description

In the morning after meeting in Lanquin village, you will then head out by safety truck on this full-day adventure to Kanba Cave and Semuc Champey Park.

At Kanba your guide will take you inside the underground river caves for around 1,000 meters. You’ll scramble over rocks, wade through pools, climb up waterfalls, and swim through narrow channels.

Next you’ll go on a half-hour tubing experience on the Kahabon River.

Afterwards, you’ll go on a walk in Semuc Champey National Park. The monument comprises a natural stone bridge that’s 300 meters long. Natural pools of different sizes have formed above the bridge, where you can relax and soak in the turquoise pools.

The tour was great. However, when we arrived we discovered that we had paid about 30% more than everyone else on the same tour who had booked locally. The value was still fine and worth what we paid, it was just frustrating to see that we had been charged that much more than all the others. The guide was great, very informative. The scenery breathtaking! An absolute paradise! Overall, I would go again... I would just wait to buy my tickets for the tour upon arrival.... maybe during a more busy time you need the reservations so you can ensure a spot... but that was not the case on this trip... for what it’s worth.
