At the designated time, you'll meet at Calle 32 in Guatapé and head to a coffee farm in the San Rafael area.
To reach the farm, you'll disembark from the vehicle and walk a 5-kilometre (3.1 miles) trail. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted with a refreshing drink to energize you before starting the tour of the hacienda, where you'll learn about the entire process of preparing intense Colombian coffee.
You'll start by visiting the coffee plantation to see how the coffee plants are planted and cultivated. You'll spend about 20 minutes observing the harvesting process and even have the opportunity to pick some coffee beans yourself.
Next, you'll move on to the washing, drying, and roasting stages. Once the beans are perfectly roasted, they will undergo threshing and grinding. The resulting coffee powder will be packaged, and some of it will be used to prepare a coffee-based drink for you to taste, allowing you to experience its intensity and flavor firsthand.
Finally, you'll walk back to the vehicle, which will be waiting to take you back to Guatape. The return is scheduled 4 hours after the initial pickup.
