Benefit from pick-up at your Guangzhou hotel at 07:00 and transfer with your guide to Guangzhou Nan Railway Station (Guangzhou South). Catch the bullet train to Shaoguan, about 1 hour's journey to the north. Upon arrival in Shaoguan, travel to Danxia Mountain, declared part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of "China Danxia" in 2010. Climb to the summit of Zhanglao to experience the highest peak of Danxia Mountain, and get bird's eye views of the surrounding outcrops of the mountain range. At 8.00 am, your guide will pick up you from your hotel and take a ride 2 hours to Kaiping where you visit Liyuan Garden, Zili Village. In Kaiping there are many Diaolou(Watch towers) that are listed as cultural heritage by UNESCO in 2007. Kaiping Diaolou and Villages were built by overseas Kaiping people during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. These buildings take three forms: communal towers built by several families and used as temporary refuge, residential towers built by individual rich families and used as fortified residences, and watch towers to defend agaisnt local banditry. Then you will visit Chikan old town to view the local rural life before lunch. Afterwards you will be transferred back to Guangzhou, drop off at the hotel where the wonderful day trip concludes.
