This is a great tour for those who want to see a some amazing features of the Costa Rica!! It was fun to stop in Sarchi and get some amazing CR coffee as well as most things you could imagine at the souvenior shop. Then, we had a 2 hour drive to lunch at La Fortuna (which was delicious) and then to the Arenal viewpoint. Our guide, Eric, was very informative and I learned a lot about CR. Traveler's note: if you come during rainy season (May-November), you run the risk of not being able to see the volcano because of the clouds, but thankfully we could see it!! It was a GREAT view. Only took a 5 minute, inclined walk. If you enjoy beautiful gardens, hot tubing, and delicious food, the Tabacon Hot Springs are also for YOU!! Truly picturesque at the 5-star hotel. We had 3 hours there, but only spent two hours in the springs. There is also a spa available, but I'm sure that costs extra. You get a locker with a key to keep your stuff safe. Definitely go!! I had a great time even going alone!
This was an amazing day! We started with horse back riding through their extensive property. The horses were easy going and knew the way so it didn't take much for the novice riders. Next we took a school bus to the next stop on their property. This was the white water tubing. What a beautiful and fun adventure. Just the right amount of rapids. We had a wonderful buffet lunch back at Hacienda Guachipelin followed by the zip lining. This felt slightly rushed, but was still a lot of fun. We purchased a DVD of our pics and video for $40 at the end. The last part of the day is the mud baths and hit springs. Since we stayed at the hotel we had already done this the next before. Make sure to bring your camera!!
We started on horseback with my 4 year old grand daughter riding with me, our second event was the tubing thrill, the guide placed my 4 year old in her own tube and rode with her the whole time. The zip line was great, a little frighting at times, especially the last zip where all 6 of us wound up on a platform approx 80 feet over the gorge . We then had to scale a wall to a lower level on the wall where we were hooked to a rope and shoved to another level across the gorge. I must say we were safely attached at all times to another guide line.
Enjoyed the activities especially the tubing only when I wasn't stuck between a rock and other tube(s). When we arrived, no one communicated with us unless we asked questions. We had no guide on the tour so I was surprised. Despite some of the negatives, I did enjoy the one-day adventure tour overall. We enjoyed the lunch buffet.
One of the best tours I’ve ever done! To this day I’ll forever be in debted to Get Your Guide for making solo travel that much easier & safer!
