Guadix is one of the oldest human settles in Spain. The most particular thing of this city is its wonderful cave-houses, still occupied nowadays and that is the most characteristic point of its neighbourhoods. This monumental city conserves an interesting historical and artistic heritage, its fotified towers from 11th century, from where you can admire the lovely views of the meadow, the city and Sierra Nevada. Guadix offers the possibility to travel back in time to know different cultures and civilitations just walking along its narrow streets and its big monuments. The religious architecture is the protagonist in Guadix thanks to important buildings as the Cathedral and the churches of Saint Anna, Saint Domingo and Saint Francis.

Guadix: Cathedral of Guadix Entry Ticket

Guadix: Cathedral of Guadix Entry Ticket

I experience the charm of the Guadix cathedral, discovering the interiors, the museum and the tower with the help of a free audioguia. I admire the baroque style of this Catholic cathedral that began to suffer construction in the 16th century and was completed in the 18th century. Time trip when he enters this place where there was once a Spanish-Visigoda church, with a diocesan seat created by San Torcuato in the first century and where it is likely to be one of the first bishops in Spain. Discover how the largest mosque in the city was established here during the times of Muslim occupation. After the city's reconquest in 1489, the cathedral was dedicated to St. Mary of the Incarnation, which was located in the same mosque before the construction of the new cathedral. Admire the characteristics of this Church as built as a symbol of the population. This is a place rich in history, and visit to the tower enjoying the majestic views, as well as the Caja Campanero and knowing the details of the people who lived in it. Of the latest attractions incorporated into the visit, we must highlight the videomapping in the image of the Pietà. I imagined the day tour to be a little different. I thought we would be hiking more in the geopark. But most of the time is driving time (about 5 to 6 hours). I recommend writing the description for this activity in a little more detail. Nevertheless, it was very nice. The guide was very nice. At first he couldn't find us at the meeting point, but then a woman from the organizer came and showed us where the guide was. The guide showed us and explained a lot, including how these landscapes were formed. We made a few stops, including in the Gorafe Desert and finally in the town of Guadix, where we had over an hour of our own free time before the journey home. I actually wanted to do this tour the next day. The organizer wrote to me and offered to do the tour on a different day, when other participants had already signed up. Top service from the organizer!

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide Goya Garrido was very knowledgeable, fun and he personalised the tour to ensure we get the best out of it, the off-road 4x4 experience, routes and time spent out of the 4x4 and exploring was perfect. We even met the owner of a small bodega who makes the Jaral PVRVLIO Crianza red wine and looked around his workplace. Highly recommended for anyone interested in history, geology, landscape, evolution or just a different kind of experience.

Just wow! The area is beautiful and impressive. We learned a lot about the cheetah park, the people and the history. The guide loves his job and you can tell. It couldn't be better. Thank you for everything. We're already looking forward to the next tour!

The only thing is that we only went to Madrid to sleep. I would have liked to use that time to see something or I should have had the opportunity to decide to start the journey from Madrid.

The activity was great. The guide, Txema, was very nice and professional. He also left plenty of time to enjoy the sites. The views of the geopark were amazing. 100% recommended!!
