What to Expect
Explore the colonial heart of Guadalajara, capital of the Mexican state of Jalisco, and see city landmarks, such as Liberation Square, Liberty Market, and the magnificent 16th-century Cathedral. Your 5-hour excursion also includes a visit to the artisan village of Tlaquepaque, where you can purchase some unique souvenirs and gifts.

Start your tour in the Centro Historico of Guadalajara and discover the heart of the colonial city. Learn about the foundation of the city and explore the preserved 16th and 17th century architectural masterpieces of Plaza Guadalajara and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Situated at the intersection of four squares surrounding the cathedral, the area is known as the “Cruz de Plazas” (Cross of plazas) due to the shape of a cross they form when viewed from above.

Visit magnificent colonial buildings, such as Government Center, and the main Plaza Tapatia. Admire the Jalisco Regional Museum in the former 18th-century seminary of San José. Walk through Liberation Square, also known as "Plaza de las dos Copas" (Square of Two Cups), thanks to its lovely cup-shaped fountains.

Stroll past the vibrant Mercado Libertad, one of Mexico’s most traditional markets, and admire the neoclassical Degollado Theater, famous for its diverse performances and artistic design.

After a tour of historic Guadalajara, re-board the vehicle to travel to the amazing city of Tlaquepaque. This famous artisan village provides the perfect showcase for a large variety of Mexican arts and crafts, such as ceramics, pottery, wood figurines, and wrought iron furniture. Before your return to Guadalajara, pick up some great gifts and enjoy free time to sample some traditional Mexican food and drinks at a local café.
