What to Expect
Lake Chapala is known for its incredible year-round weather and lovely scenery. Just 10 minutes from the lake, an enormous tree welcomes visitors to the town of Ajijic, a destination that’s popular with horse riding enthusiasts and for its moderate summer temperatures.
Enjoy the views and explore the town’s narrow cobblestone streets lined with charming restaurants, bars, and art galleries.
Other sites you’ll visit on this 6-hour tour include the pier, Scorpion Island, Braniff House, the Gran Hotel, the Franciscan Temple, La Floresta, and the zocalo, or main square.
An optional motorboat ride is available for an additional fee. There are 2 choices of itinerary. You can take a 45-minute ride around the lake, or a 75-minute ride to Isla de Los Alacranes to see a stone in the image of the Guadalupe Virgin and a small fisherman's village.
