Pedra do Telégrafo Hike and Beach Full-Day Tour

1. Pedra do Telégrafo Hike and Beach Full-Day Tour

Located in the Pedra Branca State Park, Pedra do Telégrafo (elevation of 350 meters) is at the top of Guaratiba Hill. Take a walk along the beach to the starting point of the trail. The ascent begins at Guaratiba Beach and it takes about an hour to reach the summit. There are several viewpoints along the way, with the best known being a large, sharp rock called Pedra da Bigorna. From the summit, marvel at the views of the Restinga da Marambaia sandbank, the wild beaches of Rio, Pedra do Pontal, and Grumari Beach. After the walk, relax on the beaches of Grumari or Prainha.

Prainha and Grumari Beaches: Small Group Hike and Swim

2. Prainha and Grumari Beaches: Small Group Hike and Swim

Travel to the west part of Rio de Janeiro, an area that remains untouched, yet is abundant with nature. Following the coastline, you'll pass by Reserva Beach and Lagoa de Marapendi, before stopping at Roncador viewpoint, that offers a great view to the Sleeping Giant. In this park, see a project where biologists treat animals to put them back to nature. Then we'll head to Prainha, a charming small beach considered the best surf spot in Rio where you'll hike for about 1.5 hours (roundtrip) and reach Caeté summit. From this summit, you will see an amazing view of the coast and the other mountains of Rio and, with a bit of imagination, the legendary 'sleeping giant'. From Prainha, drive for 5 more minutes to Grumari, your last stop where you'll stay and enjoy the beach for about 3 hours. The area is also protected and you'll be able to enjoy an amazing and paradisiac tropical beach, white sands, green mountains and clear blue waters.

Rather steep climb in places and difficult by the heat of the day but accessible to the greatest number anyway. I was accompanied by my husband and my 2 children (11.7) who followed the guide without problem. You must have good shoes that hang and lots of water to hydrate yourself during breaks. The view is magnificent and it is the reward for the ascent. On site photo taken by the guide with our camera and by a professional if desired against 40 reals. Caico and Jessee were perfect guides explaining the details of the site during the ascent but also during the day on Rio in general. Lunch possible after the ascent by the sea. Quality restaurant with a beautiful view. Plan the day. We left at 5:30 am from Copacabana and returned around 5:00 pm due to heavy traffic. I recommend this outing.

This experience was absolutely amazing!! As we were just with 3 people, a small group. Enough attention from the tour guide, as we arrived quite early at the place. It was immediately our turn for pictures instead of waiting for hours. I definitely would recommend this for everyone!!

The tour was great, the guide was super nice and friendly! There was a lot of people to take the pictures but it’s worth the wait. One recommandation : you must have a good physical condition because there’s a lot of walking and climbing.

I was want be there and I made. Bit scared because my body condition was not good. But my guide was super. She just wait for second of she so me in pain. It's just amazing trip! Happy and can tell go everyone who can and want!!
