What people are saying about Greve in Chianti
First and foremost our tour guide has to be mentioned. Liza, apologies if I’ve mis-spelt, was amazing. Due to her passion for and knowledge of her home region this was more than just a wine tasting experience. I very much enjoyed her commentary on the history of Florence and the many Villages we past through during the trip. Thank you so much for making this a very memorable experience, you are a credit to your industry. As for the experience it’s self, it was very well organised. The wineries and villages we visited were very interesting and picturesque. I feel I should also mention our driver, Claudio, again I hope I’ve spelt it correctly, it was dark and raining heavily on our return on roads that would have been challenging driving a car in these conditions never mind a large coach. He was very professional and ensured we all returned safely. Many thanks all for a very enjoyable and memorable day.
We could not have had a better experience. While it was supposed to be a group tour, my daughter and I ended up being the only 2. Our tour guide, Francesco, is the reason for my 5 star rating. He bought my daughter her first Italian coffee and then entertained us and was willing to answer all of our questions about Tuscany (and really Italy in general). He even shared his Napoletan pizza dough recipe with us! San Gimignano is a quaint and beautiful town and I do wish we had had more time to explore. Don't miss Dondoli's Gelato! Both wineries were beautiful and we learned a lot about the process of wine making. We were given bread, meats, cheeses, olive oils (including truffle and spicy truffle), balsalmic vinegar and dessert. We arrived back in Florence full and happy and with wonderful information and memories. Thank you Francesco!
I loved this tour! The guide on the bus gave us some brief history as we drove which was unexpected and nice. The wineries were great family operated places and our tasting at the second place was especially good! There was an adorable cat at the first vineyard who joined us in our tasting, we loved that! Stops in Greve and Castellina were quick but really cool to experience! Would definitely recommend this tour!
This tour was fantastic! You visit 2 vineyards and get free time in 2 squares in town. Be aware that the Chianti valley produces exclusively red wine, I don’t think this is made clear in the ad at all. Also note that the pick-up point is confusing to get to as it is a bus stop. In addition to tasting wine you also sample cheese, bread, olive oil, balsamic vinegar and salami. I would recommend this tour!
This tour was good, you got a nice overview of the wine region and stopped at two wineries. We also stopped in two towns quickly. The one thing we didn’t love was how many people were on the tour. We were about 30 which is too much. Afterwards it is a cheap tour so they need to pack you in. We liked the guide and it was well organized.
