Full description

Our day begins in the morning with your pick up from your hotel. After our coach ride we arrive at the beautiful Damnoni beach, where our boat is waiting for us to take us on a 30-minute boat ride to our first stop of the day, the magnificent beach of Preveli. As we approach our destination, you will be amazed by the unique landscape surrounding us that consists of vertical cliffs of the gorge, the beautiful palm-tree forest and the crystal clear water of the beach. The Grand River ( Megalos Potamos ) that runs through the Kourtaliotiko Gorge and then empties into the sea, makes the water cool and refreshing, ideal for an amazing swim break. On the banks of the river there is a large colony of Theophrastus palm trees which give the region a sense of a tropical landscape. Walk along the sandy beach, under the shade of the palm trees and experience the exotic side of Crete.
We then head back to Damnoni beach, a long bay with beautiful turquoise waters where you can continue your swim and have a delicious meal in one of the traditional restaurants located there.
Our last stop of the day is the lovely city of Rethymno. Mostly known for its Venetian fortress, called Fortezza, Rethymno is considered to be a jewel of the island. Whether you choose to scroll around the narrow streets or have a coffee next to its beautiful Venetian port, you will have an unforgettable experience!

It was a beautiful day, even though it was too windy and we couldn't go on the boat ride (which wasn't the organizer's fault). An alternative was planned so that we could still visit the bay, and we got our money back for the boat ride. Not only could we see a lot of the island, but we also learned a lot about it. The pickup worked great. All in all, it was a beautiful, informative, and unforgettable day.

On July 3, 2025, we took part in the excursion to the Preveli region organized by you. Unfortunately, we have to report that the itinerary of this trip was irresponsible given the prevailing weather conditions. As the boat was unable to sail due to the weather, we were taken by bus to an alternative route. There, we had to climb down over 470 steps in extremely strong winds, estimated at up to 60 km/h. The wind was so strong that it was difficult to stay on your feet at times. This descent was physically demanding and, in combination with the storm, not only unpleasant but also dangerous. No serious alternative was offered, no safety assessment was communicated, and apparently no consideration was given to the very difficult conditions. Such an excursion should have been canceled or significantly reorganized. For participants with health restrictions or children, the scenario could have quickly turned into an emergency situation.
