Shanghai: 3.5-Hour Old Shanghai City Tour

1. Shanghai: 3.5-Hour Old Shanghai City Tour

Get an inside perspective of the changing scenes of Shanghai on a 3.5-hour tour that discovers old city sights, and the trendy entertainment area of Xintiandi. The tour begins with a visit to Yuyuan Garden, one of the finest imperial gardens in China, known for its classic landscape architecture. Stop at a market that sells birds and crickets, as well as an antique market, where you can rummage for bargain items. Wander down lively streets filled with local residents, sometimes still dressed in their pajamas. See tiny family-owned shops, and elderly folk playing cards on the streets. Once you reach Xintiandi, the scenery will change, and Old Shanghai gives way to its new cosmopolitan face. The stylish nightlife district is crammed with boutique stores, busy pubs and bars, and chic restaurants. Once known as the Old Shikumen area, the antique charm has been gentrified to international levels of sophistication.

Shanghai: Full-Day Sightseeing Tour with Lunch

2. Shanghai: Full-Day Sightseeing Tour with Lunch

Your tour guide and driver will pick you up at your Shanghai hotel at around 8:30 AM. The full-day tour begins with a drive to Shanghai Old Street, a business thoroughfare that today boasts a number of tourist attractions, shops, entertainment venues and cultural exhibits. Continue on to Yuyuan Garden, the largest of Shanghai's ancient gardens, featuring Ming and Qing architectural styles. Enjoy the experience of Yu Garden typical Shanghai tea. Next on the itinerary is a stop at The Bund, which for years was the symbol of Shanghai. New financial and commercial houses as well as grand buildings built in the 1930s in the European architectural styles cluster along the Bund. Stop at a local restaurant for a Chinese lunch and later visit the Shanghai Old Wax Figure Museum. Get a sense of the city throughout history through the museum’s scenes of everyday life in Shanghai. After a shopping stop at the Pearl City, you’ll head to a typical alley at Tianzifang. The legacy residential buildings and factories have been transformed into bars, cafes, crafts shops, design studios, galleries and boutiques. Take a walk around the Old French Concession, which is a perfect opportunity for a trip back in time to experience what the French colonial quarter was like. At the end of the tour, you’ll be transferred back to your hotel, arriving by 18:00.

What people are saying about Great Rockery, Yu Garden

Enjoyable tour.

Lucas was a very knowledgeable, helpful, pleasant young man. Our driver was also considerate and a skilful driver. Shanghai was a pleasant surprise. The gardens in particular were awesome. I felt pressured to buy after the tea ceremony (which was wonderful), the silk factory, the jade gardens etc. which left me feeling uncomfortable.

Very good taste of what the city has to offer if you have limited time

I enjoyed the tour as I was traveling alone and had only one day available. The tour guide , Jason, was very friendly and informative and spoke English well. He was adaptable and tried to give us as much time as possible at each sightseeing stop. It made my stay in Shanghai worthwhile ! Thank you!

Very intytour

Visited Shanghai Museum, Silk museum-really liked that they showed us full process. Yu Garden is very serene place. Definitely recommend this tour. Also guide took us for lunch to the place where local eat, not average tourists place.
