Discover some of the best views of the Sierra Nevada mountains surrounding Granada, and enjoy breathtaking panoramas of the old city from secret viewpoints.
Following a pick-up from your accommodation in Granada, travel by 4WD vehicle towards the towering peaks of the nearby mountains north of the city. They soar to altitudes of more than 6,700 feet (2,000 meters), and remain snow-capped for much of the year.
Explore the north face of the Sierra Nevada to see the highest peaks on the Iberian Peninsula, climbing to heights of more than 3,000 meters. Marvel at the amazing landscape, before driving to Sierra de Huétor Natural Park.
The mountains here are lower, and were used by the Moors to draw spring water for the Albaicín, now part of Granada. See some old fortifications from the days of the Spanish Civil War, and enjoy incredible views of Granada and the Sierra Nevada.
Return to Granada to explore the district of El Albaicín, where the medieval Moorish past can still be seen in the narrow streets running up to the Alhambra. Go to the San Miguel Alto viewpoint for one of the most incredible secret views of Granada. Finally, continue to the popular observation point of San Nicolás for some typical tapas in front of the Alhambra.
