Full description
Take off from Stawell Airpor and head over farmland, lakes, and countryside before reaching the Northern section of the Grampians National Park. Cruise around the dramatic cliffs that were formed millions of years ago, when the eastern shoreline of Australia was once below water. See Roses Gap, Mackenzie Falls, and the township of Halls Gap. Listen to live commentary from your locally born and raised pilot, who has more that 10 years' experience in the air. During your flight, choose to land at one of two locations, an olive farm or a vineyard. Grampians Olive Co. Fly in over the 28,000 olive trees and land right among them. Discover the history of this property, which has been producing olives, oils, and other products for 75 years. Take a short guided tour with one of the family members who run the farm and see the process 'from tree to bottle' before you get to sample the products. Enjoy a picnic lunch before taking off. Pomonal Estate Land right on the back lawns of this vineyard and explore its microbrewery and cellar door. Enjoy views of the Grampians as you sip on samples from your wine or beer paddle. Savor a cheese and tasting platter while soaking up the atmosphere, either sitting inside by the cozy fire or outside at a wine barrel, depending on the time of year. After visiting your chosen landing location, return back to Stawell Airport, flying over and learning about important Aboriginal rock sites on the way.
