Full description
Step back in to Brazil’s vibrant past and discover the heritage of Italian immigrants and their relationship to Brazilian culture. After pickup from your accommodation in Gramado or Canela, head to the Maria Fumaça steam train, which has been in continuous operation since the 19th century. After your ride through the countryside, head to a colonial-era vineyard, famed for its production of wine and sparkling wine.
After touring the grounds and tasting a bevy of the winery’s offerings, you’ll head to the Epopeia Italiana Cultural Park, where you’ll discover the story of Italian immigrants in living color. As a docent dressed in period clothing leads you through meticulously recreated scenes of Italian life, you’ll gain a rich perspective on Italian culture, and the intrinsic interconnectedness of immigrants and Brazilian culture.
