Das Goslarer Rathaus ist ein Jahrhundertbauwerk im ganz speziellen Wortsinn: beginnend in der Mitte des 15. Jahrhunderts mit dem Ostflügel, dessen Arkaden sich zum Marktplatz öffnen, wurde es über mehr als 400 Jahre durch immer neue Anbauten vergrößert. Der Huldigungssaal im Goslarer Rathaus wurde zwischen 1505 und 1520 als Ratssitzungssaal eingerichtet. Er ist ein einzigartiges Kleinod spätgotischer Raumkunst: seine Wände, die Decke und sogar die Fensternischen sind vollständig mit Tafelgemälden ausgekleidet. Jedes einzelne Gemälde ist ein Kunstwerk von hoher Qualität, das sich in den überwältigenden Gesamteindruck einfügt. Nachdem der Huldigungssaal über Jahre hinweg restauriert worden ist, schützt heute aufwändige Sicherheits-, Klima- und Lichttechnik dieses Kunstwerk vor dem Verfall. Eine multimediale Inszenierung macht den Huldigungssaal heute wieder erlebbar. Es befindet sich neben der Tourist-Information auch ein Welterbe-Infozentrum im Kellergeschoss desRathauses.

Pass the "Lohmühle" Leather Tanners’ Mill to find out that this was the leather tanners. It was built in the early 16th century and served later as both a cement- and a leather tanning mill. You can still see parts of the historic water wheel and the mechanism for grinding oak bark and making tannic acid. You will see the Imperial Palace of Goslar which is a historical building complex at the foot of the Rammelsberg hill in the south of the town of Goslar, north of the Harz mountains in central Germany. It covers an area of about 340 by 180 meters. Here, discover the architectural features of the Kaiser statue, learn about the history of the Wander Kaisertum and its new lighting technology feature of the Imperial Palace. Next, if possible, you will visit the Siemenshaus which is considered one of the most beautiful houses of the area. This 19th century house is a very prominent destination of the city. It is located on the corner of Schreiber- Bergstrasse and was built in 1692-93 by the merchant and city captain Hans Siemens. Finally, you will stroll through the Peterstrasse street which once led to the St. Peter’s Church on the Frankenberg and the mill at the mountain bridge. We did it this way for the first time. It's great that you can just interrupt the tour. It's also great that you can see your location on the map. That way you can get back to the starting point or, if you want to see something else, to the destination. The questions in between were also great. Not too easy, otherwise the fun would be lost.
