The tour lasts 4-5 hours and is run on the 1st part of the day. On the way to Bibiheybat guests will have a chance to see the world's first industrial oil well. The First Stop of the tour will be Bibiheybat mosque which includes the tomb of Ukeyma Khanum (a descendant of The Islamic Prophet Muhammad), and today is the spiritual centre for the Muslims of the region and one of the major monuments of Islamic architecture in Azerbaijan. The journey continues to the Gobustan Museum of Petroglyphs, an indoor and outdoor museum located approximately 70 kilometres from Baku. Whenever we reach to Gobustan area, will lead to the Mud Volcanoes. Home to the world's greatest concentration of mud volcanoes, the landscape around Baku might be described as messy, bubbling, and sometimes explosive. The country is thought to have nearly 400 mud volcanoes and while they never grow to the size of a normal volcano, topping out at around 10 kilometres in diameter and 700 metres in height (among the largest mud volcanoes in the world are Boyuk Kanizadag and Toraghai, both in Azerbaijan), they do occasionally get the chance to show off.

There are over 400 volcanoes in the country, and this is the largest number of volcanoes found in a single region. Dashgil Mud Volcano is located 2–2.5 km north of Alyaty railway station, which is situated 60 km southwest of Baku. The volcanic cone is a flat uplift elongated in east-west direction. Tectonically, it is confined to latitudinal faults extending along the western periclinal axis of the Dashgil structure. Dashgil is one of the active mud volcanoes in eastern Azerbaijan. It has erupted in 1882, 1902, 1908, 1926, and 1958. The area of volcanic breccia extends over 470 hectares, with an average thickness of 55 m. • 15:30 Return to Baku city. End of the tour.

The mud volcanos are very interesting and the views are beatiful to take pictures. The petroglyphs are a must see to those interested in history. The mosque is unique. all these visits became even better because of Ramin, our guide. He is the best. Thanks to him we enjoyed the tour very much.

I highly recommend Gobustan. Worth seeing. The guide is very friendly, entertaining and helpful. It is not only helped because you have paid, but also beyond that. I was traveling with my 1.5 year old son. Round trip was quite comfortable in private car.
