This guided tour grants exclusive access to private land on family-owned Glentanner Station, one of New Zealand’s most historic and iconic stations, set in one of the country’s most magnificent landscapes. It’s a journey back through time, to the rough and rugged early days of high country farming, and further, to the ancient past when glaciers carved the land to form the spectacular Mackenzie Country. Walking poles provided, or bring your own if preferred. *Unfortunately we are not able to cater to specialized dietary requirements. If you are on a restricted diet please bring your own snacks.

Aoraki/Mount Cook was named the cloud piercer by Maori. You’ll see for yourself on this flight over the Ben Ohau Mountain Range and peaks of the Southern Alps in the Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park that surround this storied mountain. Your helicopter will manoeuvre you up to a stunning alpine vantage point where it’s safe for an alpine landing where you will get out, take in the alpine air, take photos and videos of the amazing landscape. Stare amongst the natural beauty and see the turquoise lakes below you, the glacial carved mountains around you and during the winter season (May-September) snow covered mountain tops.

Starting off from Glentanner Park, this flight takes you past the Hochstetter Icefall on Aoraki/Mt Cook and the upper Tasman Glacier before a thrilling alpine landing in the snow (subject to snow levels) where you can take epic photos and videos whilst breathing in the crisp alpine air. You’ll fly back to our base through the remote Burnett Mountains that face towards Aoraki/Mount Cook with the expansive and arid Mackenzie Basin below you. One of the best chances to see the enormous mountain and glacial range in this famous National Park.

This short scenic option is ideal if you're looking for the opportunity to experience the thrill of a helicopter flight with incredible alpine views. Take off from our base at Glentanner Park where you will rise up above Lake Pukaki, then sweep through the rugged high-country landscape of the Ben Ohau mountain range to an alpine landing site in the mountains (snow is subject to seasons). Enjoy the fantastic vista from this alpine setting as you look out to the amazing alpine environment around you, before descending back down the valleys that were carved out by glaciers centuries ago.
