Full description

Discover the Dockside Story and soak in the history of the Old Pumphouse and the historic area of the Queen's Dock in the self-guided area at the start of the tour. Learn about the birth of the whisky industry and Glasgow’s history, featuring live footage and animation bringing the story to life. Next, your expert guide will take you through several areas of production at the distillery. See the craftsmen produce the high quality, New Make Spirit, currently maturing to become The Clydeside Single Malt Whisky.

Your guide will provide all the detail in the production process at the distillery, including malting, mashing, fermentation, and distillation. Marvel in the picturesque Still House with the copper wash and spirit still, admiring the view down the River Clyde. Head into the tasting room where you'll experience the development of the Clydeside spirit, starting with the distillery's new make, followed by two whiskies that have each matured in first-fill bourbon casks and first-fill sherry casks.

Nice tour and a nice and occasionally funny tour guide. Easy to understand despite speaking another language. Interesting information during the tasting. Also a nice cafe and shop. Nice that you get a glass to take home at the end! Too bad about people who come late, but of course they can't do anything about that.

Beautiful house …. Guide was quite good, were very many people. Sometimes we didn't understand everything because the lady was standing very quickly or too far away from us. We got 4 whiskeys to taste, they were very good. I would have liked to take a bottle with me, but unfortunately there are only large bottles.

An interesting introductory tour to Scottish whisky making and the Clydeside distillery. The tour is only 1 hour as it is a small distillery. The price of the tour reflects this and it is good value for money. We didn't manage to read everything in the 2nd part of the tour before we were moved along to learn about the making process. Olga, our tour guide, was friendly and knowledgeable. We did the tour on a Saturday so the distillery wasn't in action but it was still interesting to see all the machinery. You get 4 samples of whisky but these are straight (or you can add water). There's no option to try it with a mixer.
