Full description

From Glasgow, travel north towards the Scottish highlands. Our first stop is for a cup of tea or coffee at a café on the shores of Loch Lomond. We then climb up into the Highlands over the unique, desolate landscape of Rannoch Moor and the Black Mount to Glencoe, site of the 1692 massacre of the MacDonald clan. After lunch in the Fort William area, we continue beneath Britain’s highest mountain, Ben Nevis and into the Great Glen. At Loch Ness, take a 1-hour cruise on the loch or enjoy the beautiful views at its shores.

Begin your return journey from Inverness, Capital of the Highlands. Before arriving back in Glasgow, we will cross the Grampian Mountains and the woodland scenery of Perthshire, including the Forest of Atholl.

The coach was very comfortable, the guide knowledgable and entertaining and there was a lot packed in to the day. The stops were well chosen and the scenery stunning all the way through. The tour is brilliant for getting a sense of the Highlands. The stops on this tour are quite brief, with most time being spent at Loch Ness. You should be aware that if you opt out of the boat tour there is very little else to do as there is no path around the Loch and no pavements or footpaths to walk safely outdoors. There is a restaurant with a viewing platform and a souvenir shop.

It was a wonderful experience, just beware that if you are overweight, your thigh might be squished against the seatbelt on the side of the bus seat and hurt. My legs are also long and they were squished up against the seat in front of me as well. Not very roomy of a bus, especially for those on the bigger side, but the experience was amazing.

Fantastic trip. Our guide Andy was very knowledgeable and there was a good balance between information and giving you some quiet time on the journey. Plenty of stops for photo opportunities and a chance to freshen up. Only slight downside was the coach was very hot and cramped with 28 people, was very grateful for the stops in the cold air when they happened. I am overall extremely impressed with this trip and saw a great coverage of the Highlands.
