Full description

Escape the hustle and bustle of Barcelona for the day on a full-day trip to Girona and Figueres, two of the most scenic towns of the Costa Brava. First, visit the historic town of Girona to see Roman remains and medieval buildings. Lose yourself in a labyrinth of narrow streets, and travel through the best-preserved Jewish Quarter in Europe.

Marvel at Girona Cathedral and the widest Gothic nave in the world. Then, see the colorful houses along the River Onyar. Go to the top of Girona’s medieval walls for panoramic views. Next, transfer to Figueres near the border with France, and experience one of the main destinations of the so-called “Dalí Triangle.” Explore the birthplace of Salvador Dalí, and enter some of the places he frequented as an adult. Go to the Dalí Museum, designed by Dalí himself on the ruins of an old municipal theater. Journey into the artist's mind as you explore the vast collection of his work, including some of the strangest artifacts imaginable.

Luis was incredibly knowledgeable about all things Dali and gave us an amazing tour of the museum. What he knows about specific details of these pieces of art are astonishing. Girona was a lovely tour as well and Luis was a wonderful guide through these historical sights. The ride back to Barcelona was longer than I’d like but we’ll worth it

Our guide enlivened our tour with his stories. And he was a wonderful storyteller. The Dali museum was as interesting, fun, and unique as one would expect from a creator like Dali. It perfectly mirrored the artist's sensibilities. Our guide still left us plenty of time to explore it on our own. But I really enjoyed his guided tour through Girona - a medieval wonder that ranges from the monumental to the tight spaces of the Jewish Quarter. The layers of history are visible around every corner. It was a good, full day well-spent.
