Our trail guide for the battle field was very knowledgeable and made the trip interesting and added humor rather than just droll on like some guides do. He was really good. The horse guide, and the outrider, were both very in tune to the riders, horses and the needs of all. Great job ladies! We loved the horses. My horse, Twister, was a "tailgater" (literally) but a very good boy. Just give him a little direction and he is great (I should add that I have had minimal experience with horses). My husband has never been around horses and he is now hooked. I have been trying to get him to do a trail ride for years and he always resisted. I finally insisted we do this at Gettysburg and it was great. We are now both looking forward to more trail rides in the future. (He rode Ulysses, also a bit of a tailgater but a great horse). Regardless if you have no experience with horses or a lot of experience; know very little about the Battle of Gettysburg or know a lot; you will like this tour!
Our guide was waiting for us at the appointed time and place, ready to get started. Due to covid regulations we followed him while we were in our own vehicle. We connected with him via cell phone. The connection wasn't always the best and calls were dropped at times but we made the best of it. Our guide was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions.
This is a fantastic tour and an amazing way to see the battlefield. The horses were very well trained and the ride was perfect. I loved the combination of the history, views, and riding the horse! Very informed guide who told excellent stories based on historical facts.
We were beginner riders and were happy to see how well trained the horses were! We felt super safe with the staff on the ride with us- helping and giving direction. Tour guide was great though hard to pay attention to at points when directing the horse
Rich, the tour guide, tailored the tour to be more detailed around specific events during the battle that we wanted to learn more about
