We met our guide, Grace, at the meeting point which was easy to find. We started our tasting tour at a nearby restauant for excellent prawn mee. From there Grace told us about thr history of Penang and the food culture. We walked and ate our way through the city. I will mangle the spelling of almost every dish we tried l, but we had such a good time tasting things we would never be able to order or request on our own. Grace was a fabulous guide! The tour was one of the best we have had and I highly recommend.

This was a great morning tour. Ash was an excellent guide and we ate at some brilliant places, eating things we would never had found if going out on our own. The food was delicious and there is loads of it so go hungry!

When it comes to food, the residents of Penang have it good. There’s few places which measure up to George Town’s culinary prowess. It might not be as visited as Bangkok or Singapore, but those who cross the Penang Strait are treated to some serious feasting. There’s just nowhere like it. Each morning the street vendors and shophouses burst into breakfast action simmering, frying and steaming some of George Town’s best eats. This tasty tapestry of flavour stems from over a century of Malay, Indian and Southern Chinese influence. Over four hours we’ll take a deep dive into Penang’s food scene mopping up 15+ tastings around old George Town. Highlights including kaya-slathered toast with runny egg, smoky stir-fried char koay kak Chinese radish cake, fruity Penang-style laksa and some of the island’s best dim sum among more than a dozen more dishes. Along the way, discover the history and culture of Penang’s food expertly led by a knowledgeable host.

Great great tour. There was so many things to eat, I was so full in the end that i was glad to walk back to the hotel. Lee Ann was a great guide and so informative. This tour was different from the evening one since it explored different part of Georgetown and also totally different foods. Recommend to sign up for both…. But do them in different days
