Great boat ride to Portofino but it is an hour and a half each way with just over an hour at Portofino. That was fine for us as it’s quite an expensive area/bay. £20 each for the boat ride & to stop for a beer there was great for us.

It's a one and a half hour trip. Nice to see the coast. Keep in mind that if you take the lunch, you will only have 1.15 hours on Portofino itself and after that you will sail again for another hour and a half. This was too much for my daughter. Bring sunscreen and hat, as there are few shady spots on the deck

Really amazing to see all these picturesque small towns from the seaside. So different than traveling by train or car!! Really recommend this trip. But keep in mind that you can only spend one hour in Portofino! I suggest going there with the boat and returning with the train via St. Margaritha statione.
